Walter Tools' unique Tiger·tec® Gold multilayer coating is now also available for cutting-off and grooving applications in the WSM33G insert grade, suitable for ISO P, ISO M, ISO K, and ISO S material groups.

In addition to the 3xD and 5xD DC180 Supreme solid carbide drills released in the spring, an 8xD model with four guide margin lands has now been introduced. The tip of the 8xD drill is coated with a unique Krato·tec™ multilayer coating, which is extremely hard yet tough, providing the drill with a long lifespan and process reliability at maximum machining values.

The high-performance Walter D4120 indexable insert drill will be available in the future in half-millimeter increments, also in 4xD and 5xD lengths.

The drilling thread mills are now available for all machinable material groups, in addition to hard materials, thanks to the new TC645 and TC685 Supreme thread mills. A drilling thread mill does not require a pre-drilled thread hole, as the cutting edges on its face work the thread directly into solid material by drilling. With drilling thread mills, you save tool positions on the machine, reduce change time and allow the thread to reach closer to the bottom of the hole compared to traditional threading methods.

The patented Tiger·tec® Gold multilayer coating has also been extended to the inserts of the T271.. indexable thread mills. The new WSM37G insert grade is suitable for machining all material groups, and thread mill inserts are now available with the new coating for M-, MF-, UNC-, UNF-, UN-, UNS-, and G-threads.

The new M2472/M2473 copy mills with ceramic inserts are the primary choice for machining nickel and cobalt-based superalloys in the ISO S material group, such as Inconel.

The Walter QuadFit quick-change system for turning has been expanded with new steel turning beams with diameters of 40mm, 50mm, and 60mm.
