Mastercam File translators
Mastercam File Translators Enhance Speed and Compatibility
Mastercam File Translators offer the ability to import and export files between different programs, making it easier to edit and machine complex components. Mastercam includes a wide range of CAD model file translators, allowing files to be imported into Mastercam regardless of their origin and modified to meet machining requirements.
Mastercam's file importer supports many CAD file formats. Native CAD formats include Alibre Design, AutoCAD®, Autodesk® Inventor™, CATIA™, Creo®, KeyCreator®, Rhino, Siemens NX™, SOLIDWORKS®, SolidEdge, and SpaceClaim®. Additionally, the supported solid modeling core file formats are ACIS and Parasolid®. Standard formats include IGES, STEP, STL, and VDA.
Several of Mastercam’s file importers can bring in Model Based Definition (MBD) elements, which contain intelligent dimensions added to the file during its creation. Importing this data and automatically integrating it into Mastercam can save a significant amount of time, reducing or eliminating the need for separate drawings. MBD entities can be imported from formats like STEP, Siemens NX, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and CATIA V5.
No matter the origin of the CAD model, Mastercam file translators allow you to get parts from machines faster and more efficiently, enabling seamless work across a range of different file formats and accelerating the entire machining process.
