Mastercam clean installation

If you want to completely remove Mastercam before reinstalling it, it's important to delete the program along with related folders and registry keys. Follow the instructions below to ensure a clean installation.

1. Uninstalling Mastercam

Start by uninstalling Mastercam through the operating system:

  • Press the Windows key and type “Add or remove programs.”
  • Find Mastercam and select Uninstall.

2. Deleting Mastercam Folders

Delete the following folders to ensure no files are left from the previous installation:

  • C:\Program Files\Mastercam 20xx
  • *C:\Users\Public\Documents\Shared Mastercam 20xx*
  • *C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\Documents\My Mastercam 20xx*

Replace “20xx” with the version year of Mastercam and “YOUR_USERNAME” with the name of your user account.

3. Removing Registry Keys

To ensure a completely clean installation, you also need to delete the registry keys related to Mastercam:

  • Press the Windows key, type “regedit,” and open the Registry Editor.
  • Delete the following keys:
    • Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CNC Software\Mastercam 20xx
    • Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CNC Software\Mastercam 20xx

(In older versions, the key might be located at: …Software\CNC Software, Inc.\Mastercam 20xx)

4. Reinstalling Mastercam

Once the old installation is removed, you can reinstall Mastercam:

  • Open the installation file.
  • Right-click and select "Run as administrator" to ensure proper installation.

Following these steps will give you a completely clean Mastercam installation, minimizing problems caused by old settings and files.
