Mastercam student version

The Mastercam student/demo version requires an activation code, which you can obtain from the Mastercam manufacturer's website for free.

Five Steps to Obtain the License:

  1. Create an account at my.mastercam.com
  2. Verify your my.mastercam account
  3. Obtain the student version activation code
  4. Install the Mastercam student version on your computer
  5. Enter the activation code into Mastercam

Create an account at https://signup.mastercam.com/try-mastercam

  1. Creating a mastercam.com account requires an email address. Enter your email address in the Enter your email to start field.
  2. Once the email address is given, allow the website to store the information.
  3. Click Get Started.

    After this, the website will ask for the my.mastercam.com account details.
  4. Ensure the email address is correctly written and enter your first and last name.
  5. Create a password for the account. The password must meet these conditions: at least 8 characters, at least one letter, at least one number, no spaces allowed
  6. Retype the password in the Confirm Password field.
  7. Fill out the CAPTCHA field. Type the letters and numbers shown in the image into the field below and then choose Create Account.

Verify your my.mastercam account

  1. The website will inform you that a verification email has been sent to the email address you provided.
  2. Open your email and look for the Mastercam.com Validation Code message. If the message does not appear within 10 minutes of creating the account, check that it hasn't gone to the spam folder.
  3. The message contains a verification link. Click Click here to validate your email address to verify your account.
  4. The verification link will open in an internet browser, indicating that the account verification is successful.
  5. Select the Proceed to Login button, which will redirect you to the login page. Enter the email address and password used to create your account and select Login.

Obtain the activation code for the student version

The website will request additional information when logging into the my.mastercam.com account for the first time. All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

  1. Ensure your name is written correctly.
  2. Then enter your phone number and the name of your educational institution or company. Choose Country or Region and select Finland
  3. Fill in the organization details. If you are a student, select Education. If you work at a company, choose Industry. Answer the question Do you currently use Mastercam? with Yes or No and then select Submit.
  4. You will receive the Mastercam student version license number and activation code. Copy both for later use, as they will be needed after installation when launching the software for the first time.

Install the Mastercam student version on your computer

  1. Download the latest Mastercam version here. If you want the software in Finnish, also download the Finnish language pack here.
  2. Double-click the installation file once the download is complete.
  3. Follow the instructions provided by the installation file to install Mastercam on your workstation.
  4. Accept the license terms and select OK to start the installation.

Enter the activation code into Mastercam

  1. Launch Mastercam after installing it on your workstation.
  2. When launching Mastercam for the first time, the software will ask if you have an activation code. Choose Yes.
  3. The software's Activation Wizard. Select Online Activation/Deactivation.
  4. Choose Activate a New License and accept the terms of use.
  5. The software will connect to the activation server and request the license number and activation code. Copy the saved license details into the fields, a green check mark will appear below the fields, and select Next.
  6. The software will connect to the activation server again, then provide the license details for the student version. Check the box for I understand that this license will only support Mastercam version 2019 and newer and select Next.
  7. The software will connect to the activation server and confirm the activation success. Choose Finish. The student version license is now installed!
  8. Launch Mastercam
  9. Mastercam will ask you to accept the end-user agreement. Check Yes, I have read and accept the agreement and select Continue.
