Dynamic service for machine shops

19.09.2023

Mastercam's official reseller and trainer, Camcut Oy, had been searching for a suitable person for software sales and support services due to the growth of CAM software clients. In September 2023, Oulu native Aku Törmikoski joined the Camcut team, with a special focus on Mastercam sales and support services. In addition, Aku is responsible for tool and other product sales. Aku operates from Oulu covering the Ostrobothnia and Lapland regions. Aku has practical experience with Mastercam and Walter Tools tools as a machinist. He has worked particularly with aluminum machining and multi-axis machining. "Aku is a great addition to meet our needs to serve clients quickly and professionally in machining technical issues," says Camcut's CEO and Mastercam training manager Mikko Vepsäläinen. "Every employee at Camcut is an important part of our company's story, and each has their own area of strength," Mikko explains, referring to the fact that since Camcut's inception, he and the company's co-founder Janne Pesonen have shared their strengths in sales, support services, and training. As Camcut's operations have grown into a nationwide provider of technical services, the company has been consciously developed by strengthening various areas of expertise. In Southern Finland, sales engineer Sampsa Hirvineva's special responsibility area in product sales and support is measuring devices and machines. Office worker Salla Pesonen serves as a sales assistant and manages Camcut's incoming and outgoing freight and billing traffic.

FASTER RESPONSE TIME

With the addition of a new employee, Camcut can offer clients support in Mastercam and machining technical areas even faster. "Our goal has always been a quick response time to the client in all situations because usually the need for support in CAM software, for example, means that work is not progressing, and machining centers are waiting for machining paths to be programmed," says Mikko. The amount of programming services and method development has also been clearly increasing. "We have consistently combined tools and CAM programming throughout our company's history. Over the years, we have provided many programming services to companies that either do not have CAM software, necessary licenses, time, or sufficient expertise to create the desired machining paths. The demand for such programming services and method development has grown annually, and with Aku's help, we can better meet these needs," explains Mikko.

MODERN AND DEVELOPING

Camcut, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary next year, has strived throughout its history to be a modern and innovative service provider in the traditional machine workshop sector. The Camcut mobile app, serving as a free technical handbook for machine workshops, can be found on the phones of many industry professionals and has been downloaded over 100,000 times globally. The Camcut webshop has also been developed continuously since its publication and has been tailored to meet customer needs as well. "Our webshop is constantly evolving, with new features and products being added more extensively. Our latest additions include more efficient filters and menus to help customers quickly find the right products. The real-time stock balance of Walter Tools is now also visible to registered customers, and 3D models of the tools will soon be available for download. As new product brands, we have added, for example, UYAR cameras for installation inside machine tools to our webshop, which allow the machining process to be monitored from angles that are not usually possible to see or when machining surveillance is desired remotely on a computer or phone screen," notes Camcut's sales director, Janne Pesonen.
